Why we teach live and mark every build
Most online courses are a library. You buy access, you watch what you can, and nobody notices when you stop. The completion rates for that model are the industry's worst-kept secret.
We made two decisions that make ours expensive to run and, we think, worth it. First: every session is live, taught by a qualified teacher who teaches in a classroom every week. Not a recording of someone confident; a person who notices when you're lost and changes the explanation. Second: every week you submit a build — a working automation, not a quiz — and a tutor reviews it within 48 hours and tells you what's right, what's wrong and what to do next.
The cost of that is obvious: it doesn't scale like a video does. A cohort is a room, and a room has a size. The benefit is the thing you can't get from a library — someone whose job is to make sure you actually finish, with work you can show.
It also changes what 'passing' means. You don't pass a week by watching the videos. You pass it when the build works. That's a harder standard, and it's the reason the portfolio at the end is real.
Cohort one starts on Monday 4 January 2027. Enrolment opens soon. If the library model has already failed you once, this is the other model.
